The University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball team won their 10th NCAA Championship and 3rd in a row Tuesday night. Coach Geno Auriemma has won titles with some of the greatest players in women’s basketball history. Loaded again with 3 All Americans (Stewart, Mosqueda-Lewis, Jefferson) UConn ran a number of Chin sets that put the Notre Dame defense in a number of difficult situations.
Chin – Ball Screen – Tied 11-11 early in the 2015 National Championship game, UConn ran this set to get Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (The ALL TIME NCAA Women’s Basketball Record Holder for 3FGM) an open look from 3 which she knocked down and UConn never trailed again on their way to a 10th NCAA National Championship.
Chin – Duck In – UConn ran this set for a postup late in the first half of the 2015 National Championship game. Although they did not score, the set was run very well and provided multiple options.
Chin – Post Entry – Midway through the second half of the 2015 National Championship game, UConn ran this set to get National Player of the Year Breanna Stewart an open look from 15 feet.
