Late Game Situations – #Elite8 – Villanova vs. Kansas

Late Game Situations – Villanova 3/4 Court Sideline Play

Villanova was up by 3 points with 4.6 seconds left at the end of the game and needed to get the ball inbounds. With that amount of time left, Kansas was looking to force a turnover and attempt a shot to tie the game. Jay Wright knew that he needed to get the ball in safely, and preferably to a good free-throw shooter. After the foul on the Jayhawks the play before, Villanova took the ball out at the free-throw line extended mark making it a 3/4 court play to get the ball in. Jay Wright used a great play to get two players running up the court and Arcidiacono following with a cut up the right sideline. The Wildcats ended up getting the ball in to Brunson up the left sideline and he put the game away hitting both free-throws.
