Basketball, technology and food: the ultimate triple threat.
July recruiting is a grind, no doubt. As hundreds of coaches packed the McCormick Place convention center from July 10-12, where 60 basketball courts were installed for the Nike Tournament of Champions 2017 club event, many were looking for an escape from the craziness, even for just a few minutes. One can only watch so much basketball before needing a break.
They found this oasis with the Coaches Hospitality Suite, sponsored and hosted by FastModel Sports. While the players were giving it their all on the court, the coaches were working hard too. The FMS team was on site hosting to help its coaching clients stay fresh and energized, as well as say thank you for their loyalty and business over the years. Basketball, technology and food combined
It’s amazing what a little caffeine and calories can do to boost a coach’s energy level. Coffee, bagels and fruit were provided for breakfast, while pizza was served for lunch. Granola bars (and more coffee) were available for afternoon snacks. The suite also allowed coaches to socialize and network with their peers, as well as rest and reorganize their schedules.
And of course, coaches were able to connect with FastModel Sports employees – from the Sales and Support teams, to CEO Ross Comerford. As much of FMS communication with coaches is electronic, this was a great opportunity to meet face-to-face to build relationships new and old. Numerous coaches received demos of FMS products, including soon to be released FastAnalytics and the Next Generation of FastScout.
One of the most popular aspects that FMS provided were the portable phone chargers that coaches could check out and take down to the courts. Having a fully charged phone is a major key to July, when coaches are using FastRecruit and communicating with their staffs throughout the day. Coaches also received customized FastModel Sports water bottles to help keep them hydrated throughout this long month.
Several coaches in the suite could be overheard sharing how much they enjoy using FMS software – from FastDraw and FastScout, to the 3-year-old FastRecruit. Many said they can’t live without FMS products, as they are invaluable resources for their everyday coaching duties.
It all comes back to relationships, which are indeed the best part of the basketball business. The FastModel Sports team truly appreciates that it can call the coaches it works with not only clients, but friends as well.
FastModel Sports wishes to once again thank each and every coach and user out there.
